Cashmere is avery thin layer of fine wool which grows in goats’ coarse roots. It grows incold winter to resist the cold and falls off in spring. It is naturally adaptto the climate. Wool grows on sheep, and there is no cashmere growing on thesheep. Most people call the fine wool which is similar to cashmere on the sheep“sheep wool”, and this is confusion for the concept of cashmere and wool.
Next I’ll make a brief introduction of thecharacteristics of cashmere:
1. Cashmere is fine, soft and cankeep warm. Cashmere is one of the most fine fiber in the animal fiber. Babycashmere which is from young goats shoulders and body side is an extremely rareand precious variety in the cashmere, and its average fineness is under13-14.5um,length of 34-36mm.Beseides,baby cashmere is better than traditionalcashmere in softness and warmth retention property. Cashmere fiber’s surfacescales are small and smooth with a layer of air layer between the fibers, sothe weight is light and it feels smooth.
2. Cashmere has natural and softcolor. Cashmere fiber’s fineness is even and density is small, plus there is amajority of regular circles in the cross section and strong moisture absorption,it’s easy for cashmere fiber to absorb dye fully and not easy to fade. Comparedwith other fibers, cashmere has natural color, softness, pureness andgorgeousness, etc.
3. Cashmere is flexible and fullof elasticity. Because of its large crimp number, crimp and crimp recovery, cashmere fiber is suitable for processing into a plunp, soft and elasticknitwear. It’s comfortable and natural to wear with good reductioncharacteristic, especially not shrink after washing with good mode-holding nature.
