China is not only the biggest cashmere resources-rich country, but also the largest cashmere producer (production capacity accounts for about 60% of the total global) and the largest cashmere products export country, in the absolute monopoly status in the international market.
Raw material, labor cost, product quantity and scale advantages, make Chinese cashmere products quite competitive in the national market. The current global cashmere yield is about 2 million tons; and Chinese production is up to about 1.8 tons, accounting for more than 80% of the world's total output. At present, China concentrates 93% of the world's cashmere raw material. These materials are mainly exported to Japan, Italy, France, and America, more than 40 countries and regions.
Nowadays, China has a variety of cashmere products like dehaired cashmere yarns, cashmere sweaters, cashmere woven products and machine knitting cashmere garments. The product structure is extending from the woolen, pure to worsted and blended spinning; product technology content increased gradually shift to high count worsted cashmere products, thin and light cashmere clothes for all the four seasons. The scope of application of cashmere products is also further expanded; the product quality is steadily improved; and the exports are increased year by year. China has the cashmere resource advantage, and at the same time, has gradually formed the characteristic industry advantage.
