There are four kinds of dyeing methods, namely, Fiber Dye, Skein Dye, Top Dye and Yarn Dye. Many customers are confused by these dyeing methods, and especially, they do not know what is called top dye and yarn dye. Here comes a shot description about these two different dyeing methods.
Before we talk about these two dyeing methods, it’s necessary to know about Melange yarns first and to explain these two dyeing method, let’s have a look at one mélange style yarn Luca (84%Mercerized Mako` Cotton, 16%Rayon Viscose) as below.
Just like Luca, it comes with cotton and rayon viscose, we have to arrange these two fiber tops together but before that we have to dyeing these two different fiber tops; and then spin these two fiber tops into yarn the one which showed on the picture, this dyeing method is dyeing the fiber top and then spin into yarn, we call it as top dye.
Compared to top dye, yarn dye is easier to understand. Yarn Dye is more common, and this kind of normal yarn with different components only needs to be dyed once. Firstly, we spin different fibers into yarn (raw white) and then dye the yarn into solid color not mixed colors, it is called as yarn dye, and so you can take the raw white and dye it by yourself
