Check if the color will fade. Spot test the silk fabric by blotting a water-moistened cotton ball on a hidden point in the garment, such as an inside seam. If the color does not fade or come off onto the cotton ball, the garment is safe to hand wash
Then treat the stain on your silk yarn clothing. Wet a clean sponge with cool water diluted slightly with white vinegar. Blot the stain until it fades.

Gently move the silk yarn fabric around in the soapy water. Rub stains with your fingers gently or use a sponge to clean them. Pour the water out when finished washing your garment.
Rinse the silk yarn garment in a vinegar solution. White vinegar removes soap, restores shine and softens silk. Fill the basin with cold rinse water. Add 1/4 c. (50 ml) white vinegar. Gently move the garment around in the water to thoroughly rinse it.
Rinse the item in cold water. Rinse the silk yarn item a second time in a basin of fresh, cold water. Turn the garment over and around to ensure it is completely rinsed and free of soap.
Dry the silk yarn item. Take the item out of the water. Roll it up in a dry towel. Press the towel against the garment as you roll it, squeezed out the water and moisture.
Flat dry the silk yarn clothing.
